*Still in progress, to be updated soon*
Welcome to the IDI Forces Jedi Council
The primary purpose of the IDI Jedi Council is simple: To provide an arena of fun and enjoyment for all members of the IDI guild, be it through role-play or through common game play. While we do encourage role-play within the council, it is not a requirement. The only requirement is that if one chooses not to engage in the role-play aspect of the Council, they are not to disrupt the role-play of others who do choose that play style. It is also the intent of the council to aid in the growth and progression of younger initiates and padawans into masters of the force, as well as provide aid and support to the IDI guild events when possible.

It may be asked; “How can there be a council in a time when there should be no Jedi?” The response to this is to consider the SW:G game as an “alternate timeline” that has been allowed to grow independent of that of the films. Considering this idea, imagine the flowing scenario:
“It is widely known that with the induction of the dreaded “Order 66” demanding the extermination of all known Jedi, the Jedi High Council of the old Republic was forced to dissolve and all surviving council members were cast into hiding. Through the strength of the Empire, the Jedi have become all but extinct.
Or so it may seem.
What is not so widely known across the galaxy is that many Jedi have survived, and in secrecy sought to keep the knowledge of the force alive, seeking out those who may be strong with the force before the Empire can locate and exterminate them. By training the younglings in private the ways of the force and guide them to maturity as a Jedi, small pockets of Jedi have been allowed to grow in hiding throughout the universe. While the Jedi High Council no longer exists, smaller councils are formed in individual regions of the universe to help guide the growth of padawans in their own sectors.
When the Jedi became more abundant in these pockets, many of the councils had become more aware of each other, and began to coordinate alliances. The Jedi was not yet an order, but with the destruction of the dreaded Death Star, the result of the actions of a young and daring Jedi pilot named Luke Skywalker, the Jedi now have new hope and have begun to emerge from the hidden shadows and make a stand in the galaxy once more.”

1. What makes up the Jedi Council and who are invited to partake in it?
The IDI Jedi Council will be open to all Jedi who choose to participate.
The Council will consist of the following ranks:
Initiates: Younglings in the ways of the force who have begun training but have not yet crafted their first Lightsaber.
Level 1 – 30. While an Initiate is given a training Lightsaber at 22, he is not yet a Padawan as he does not gain the skill to craft one of his own until level 30.
Padawan: Still fresh in the ways of the force but have crafted their first Lightsaber. While they have attained many skills and are more knowledgeable of the force than an initiate, they still have much training ahead of them.
Level 31-80 is considered Padawan, but does not officially reach the level of Knight at 80, as the Jedi would still be required to complete a series of trials assigned by a Master or Council Member to attain this rank within the council.
Knight: These are the Jedi who have mastered the ways of the force with very little training to be received from a master, but have yet to take on a padawan learner.
Master: Once a Knight has successfully trained a Padawan learner from Initiate to Knighthood, that Jedi becomes eligible for the rank of Master. At this point, a final trial or set of trials may be assigned by a Council Member. Any Council Member may forgo the final trial and grant the Knight the rank of Master if that Council Member feels the Knight has performed above and beyond in his/her actions as a Jedi Knight.
Council Members: These are the Jedi Masters that have proven to be strong and wise in the ways of the force and have been appointed to sit on the Council itself. There are only twelve slots for this rank, so at any given time, there can only be a maximum of twelve Council Members. Once a seat becomes vacated, the remaining Council Members will appoint a Master they feel is best deserving of the vacant position. All changes to the IDI Jedi Council as a whole must be made through the consensus of these members.
2. Are Non-Jedi players allowed to participate in the Council?
Yes, all classes are welcome to attend meetings and participate in Council events, but are to be considered “support” classes, and as such are ineligible for the above ranks. At a future time, it may become necessary to assign a separate rank progression for support classes, and at that time, the Council Members will apply those ranks accordingly.
3. As a participant of the IDI Jedi Council, are we required to participate in all of the planned events?
No. While we do encourage as much activity as possible, it is understandable that real life situations take precedence over game events, therefore no requirement is placed on attendance of meetings or events. However, should a participant be online during the meetings or events and choose to avoid attendance on a continued basis could result in negative performance which could result in forfeiture of rank advancement within the council, or removal from the council altogether.
4. Are we required to Role-Play to be in the council?
No. IDI believes in the idea that every player should be permitted to choose for themselves which play style they most enjoy, and will not impose play styles contrary to their enjoyment upon them.
5. Should PvP events occur for the guild, are we required to participate?
No. Again, IDI believes in the idea that every player should be permitted to choose for themselves which play style they most enjoy, and will not impose play styles contrary to their enjoyment upon them.
6. Do the same rules and expectations of the IDI guild apply to the IDI Jedi council?
Absolutely. The IDI Jedi Council is but a portion within the guild, but are still members of the guild itself. As such all members still are expected to act and perform according to IDI’s standards.
7. Are all Jedi who participate expected to use only Light side powers, use only non-red lightsaber crystals, or wear Light Side robes/attire?
No. All players are free to find the skills and abilities that work best for them and dress themselves accordingly. The skills a Jedi uses or the color of the saber he/she uses or the robes he/she wears does not define the nature of the Jedi, as that is only defined in the actions of the jedi and how he/she uses said powers. That being stated, playing a dark side Jedi does not grant the player any freedom to step over the rules and expectations of the IDI constitition, I.E.: A player may choose to role-play a dark side Jedi, but that does not give him license to act rudely and disrespectful toward fellow players.
